Toronto East General Hospital (TEGH) is a large, urban full-service community hospital that has proudly served the community of South East Toronto since opening its doors in 1929. TEGH is committed to meeting the needs of our community. Our dedicated staff provides comprehensive and compassionate care to a diverse population of 400,000, representing over 45 cultural and linguistic groups.
TEGH offers a broad range of programs and services, organized into several health service areas: Ambulatory and Community Services, Complex Continuing Care and Rehabilitation, Diagnostic Imaging, Emergency, Laboratory Medicine, Maternal/Newborn/Child, Medicine, Mental Health and Surgery. In addition, TEGH has a Bioethics Service in place to help patients, families and health care professionals who are facing difficult moral or value-based health care decisions and an Infection Control Service to provide and be accountable for infection control within the hospital.
