PRE-REGISTRATION
At TEGH, we've made registering for your baby's birth easy. Your doctor or midwife will give you a Pre-registration package to review and fill out. The Pre-admission Questionnaire is made up of questions to help us get to know you and prepare for your upcoming hospital stay. This information is important to us because it helps us determine your and your family's needs.

When do I need to bring in the form?
You must bring in the completed Pre-admission Questionnaire prior to 30 weeks of pregnancy.

Where do I bring the form?
The completed form must be returned to the Maternal, Newborn and Child Reception Desk located on J7.

What should I bring to pre-register?

• A completed Pre-admission questionnaire
• A valid Health Card
• Extended Health Benefits Information, if applicable
• Immigration Documents, if applicable

CHILDBIRTH EDUCATION CLASSES

PRE-NATAL & POST-NATALCLASSES
This program will prepare you for your birth experience. Learn what you might expect during your pregnancy, birth, and early weeks with your baby. Take a hospital tour, watch videos, practice comfort measures such as breathing and massage, share concerns with other expectant parents. Our prenatal classes also include a Monday evening Breastfeeding Class, a Baby Bath and Massage Class on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon and four post-natal classes described below. The weeknight series also includes a Class Reunion. 

These classes cover a variety of topics including: adjustment to parenthood, staying fit, coping with fatigue and isolation, going back to work, daycare, weaning, child development and more. As well, these classes provide an opportunity to meet other mothers and babies, to share experiences and provide support for the new mother.

We offer the flexibility of choosing a time that is convenient for you. Please choose one of the following:

Refresher Class: This class is designed for those who have previously given birth. It is available upon request. Sibling preparation is also available for $20.00 per child
