Corporate Communications, Planning & Partnership staff are available to help with media enquiries. During business hours departmental staff will respond to media requests. During the day please call (416) 469-6459 or after hours, call (416) 461-8272 and ask to speak with PR on call. Information can only be released to the media by authorized Hospital spokespersons. If media have been approved to enter TEGH, they will be escorted by a designated staff member.

TEGH Posts Excellent HSMR Rates!
The Hospital Standardized Mortality Ratio (HSMR) is an important measure of hospital safety. The HSMR is a comparison of the number and types of deaths at TEGH against the number of deaths that would be considered normal. The Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) calculates the normal number based on averages from hospitals across Canada. TEGH rates are excellent, well below the average of 100!
